About Wicked Pig
Wicked Pig is a production company founded by award-winning producer and storyteller Rhys Williamson.
The name comes from a version of The Three Little Pigs that Rhys’ dad wrote when he was a child. In this version, the final pig boils the Big Bad Wolf alive and eats him. That wicked little twist stayed with Rhys, eventually becoming a key thread in his first solo show, A Very Difficult Person, and inspiring Piglet, our mascot.
It’s also a pretty good description of what we’re interested in: taking stories, theatrical forms and ideas we know, and giving them a twist of our own.
We collaborate with talented emerging artists, particularly those who work across disciplines: clown, storytelling, puppetry, spoken word, theatre, magic and everything in between. Based in Bristol, we take bold new shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and beyond.
At Wicked Pig, we all muck in to make bold, unique shows that truly connect with audiences. We go the whole hog. We work hard. Dream big. And most importantly, we have fun along the way.
